Hello Heiderose, Yes, decant and filter. The sediment is not the soluble active constituents, it is dirt. Richo

Is the inulin in the settlement of echinecea and ashwaganda tinctures and do I still decant those type of tinctures? Will I loose the medicinal part if I do?

Comment on Tulsi (Holy Basil) Type Comparisons by Richo Cech https://blog.strictlymedicinalseeds.com/tulsi-holy-basil-type-comparisons/#comment-2311 Fri, 02 Aug 2024 16:47:39 +0000 https://strictlymedicinalseeds.com/?p=32222#comment-2311 In reply to Emily.

It looks like Johnny’s brought on Rama Tulsi. They are calling it “Holy Basil = Ocimum tenuiflorum” which is vaguely correct. They have given very sparse description and photographic evidence for this and I do think that is because they don’t really want to be pinned down–the subject is highly charged and there are plenty of opinionated people that can make it difficult for the seller.

Here is the link to the Kew gardens nomenclature that shows Ocimum sanctum as an outdated synonym for Ocimum tenuiflorum https://powo.science.kew.org/taxon/urn:lsid:ipni.org:names:30252269-2

Sir, ocimum sanctum is not outdated–ocimum sanctum is simply a new name. Lots of people are still using ocimum sanctum as a name for Tulasi. Also, you are confusing people by calling vana “tulasi”and kapoor “tulasi” (or africanum) as holy basil. They aren’t worshipped.
